Meet The Team
Justin Cortelyou
Engineer, Mixer, Producer
Justin Cortelyou is a Grammy-award nominated, and multi-platinum mixing engineer/producer. Justin started his career working with Chuck Ainlay at Soundstage Studios in Nashville before moving to Los Angeles to work with legendary mixing engineer, Mike Shipley at The Animal House. Following his time with Shipley, Justin teamed up with artist/producer Tommy Henriksen and in 2008, moved their operation back to Nashville, and began working with legendary producer, Bob Ezrin.
Sam Melrod
Manager
Sam, is our studio manager who moved to Nashville from New York City in 2019 to attend The Blackbird Academy. Born in the D.C. area, Sam moved to NYC to the attend The New School where he received a BA in music. As a student, he spent time interning at several prominent recording studios. He spent a majority of his time working at the city’s oldest recording institution: Sear Sound (formerly the Hit Factory).
Sam (Cole) Horn
Assistant Engineer
Sam, or as we call him "Cole" came to the team in 2023 from the Blackbird Academy. A Swiss army knife, Cole records, assists, fixes equipment, and also writes in his spare time. He makes a mean latte as well!
