The A Room
The A Room boasts decades of musical history. Some of the music industry’s biggest stars have graced the main floor of this legendary space including Johnny Cash, John Prine, Emmy Lou Harris, and more. Designed by Steve Durr in 2018, the original footprint of the A Room is the same as it was when it was first built. The A Room is highlighted by its large tracking space, with a 10’ window in the control room to ensure ideal sightlines for producers, engineers, and musicians. The piano booth lives to the side of the main live room floor, containing a Yamaha C7 grand piano, providing additional space needed for recording. The booth also offers an open lid and fantastic isolation from the main floor. A custom DMX lighting system throughout the entire studio can transform its aesthetic in a matter of seconds. PMC MB2 monitors, an SSL 4000E, and a gear alcove that would be the envy of many producers. Soultrain was selected to Mix Magazine’s Class of 2020.
